COREALIS sustainability analysis on Livorno use-cases has been selected among the 7 best practices globally, to show how public-private-partnership approach, digital transformation and sustainability according to UN SDGs framework can generate sustainable development and mobilize sustainable innovation in the territory.

The Northern Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority System (ADSP MTS) along with ERICSSON & CNIT have managed to list an intervention on the Sustainable Smart Ports, which reported on the impact of the introduction of 5G technology in ports and articulated how digital transformation enabled by 5G technologies can contribute to UN SDGs Agenda 2030 achievements in terms of benefits and enhanced port’s processes.

This contribution was based on the experience of introducing the 5G in the port of  Livorno thanks to the EU funded project COREALIS, which sees Livorno, among others, as frontrunner in disruptive technologies of the port of the Future.

Presentation (available here) was made by Ms. Laura Cavalli from UN SDSN Italy, on September 25th, 2019. She pointed out that ”Our solution can be a precious tool for policy makers and public authorities interested in logistics integration and optimisation, in smart communities and city models, in inclusive and sustainable development”.
