A dynamic virtual event series for the ITS World Congress community. “ITS World Congress ALL ACCESS” is coming this Fall!

“ITS World Congress ALL-ACCESS,” a digital event series coming this Fall, will be an immersive experience of education sessions, discussion groups, recommended content, solutions and case-studies, a knowledge and resources center, and other online opportunities to connect our global community of intelligent transportation leaders and influencers. We are committed to ensuring that our global community is able to convene virtually to connect, discuss the latest trends in the industry and be at the forefront of recovery and innovation.

COREALIS colleagues from DYNNIQ have produced a technical paper, which has been accepted by the ITS World Congress 2020 and it will be published within April 2021.

The paper is entitled ‘Energy Assessment for the Port of the Future: towards Sustainable Logistics‘ and the abstract is following:

Ports are essential for the economy as a global player and for the internal market. They are a main catalyst for regional development and their optimisation and inclusion in the territory is fundamental to ensure that efficient operations will not affect negatively the surrounding areas, including city-port relations and the smart urban development of Port Cities. Specific issues (e.g. dredging, emission reductions, electrification, smart grids, renewable energy, port-city interface) are combined with other challenges common to all multi-modal terminals. The paper presents a novel simulation tool for analysing and modelling energy consumption and efficiency of ports. It aims to enable (large-scale) use of renewable energy for the ports of the future by understanding the costs, benefits, technical challenges and solutions. It also proposes a specific approach of grids optimisation for supporting sustainable growth of the port, from economic, environmental and social aspects, and increasing the competitiveness of European ports.

Τhe full paper will be available within April 2021.
