The Baltic Ports Conference (BPC) 2019 was orchestrated by the Baltic Ports Organisation and it took place between 4-6 September 2019, in Stockholm, Sweden. It is considered as one of its most important events, organised on an annual basis, with main focus on discussions around the key and urgent issues for the port business. It works firstly as a great networking platform, where various stakeholders can exchange their knowledge and experiences, making up the maritime community in the Baltic Sea region and beyond.

COREALIS project was honourably invited as one of the speakers and it participated, along with the whole Port of the Future Network (DocksTheFuture, PIXEL, PortForward) in the Baltic Ports Conference 2019, to present the latest developments and share its vision towards the Port of the Future,  during a dedicated session (SESSION 1) entitled as:’ Ports as the cradles of innovation’, during the 3rd day of the event.

COREALIS was introduced to audiences by Mr. Thomas Desseilles, from ERTICO on 6th September. His presentation (accessible here) was focused around the key aspects COREALIS is dealing with, towards a more sustainable and technology driven Port of the Future. He highlighted also the upcoming release of the COREALIS innovations’ alpha versions.

This year’s event fulfilled two main tasks:

  • An in-depth view into the current trends driving the global economy and its impact on the port market and help answer the question behind the main factors defining a smart port.
  • Focus on the cooperation opportunities between the ports and ship operators, which can lead to further development of the tourism sector.
